Responsibilities

About the Team As a Data Science Lead in TikTok's Trust and Safety team, you will lead a team to drive data-inspired decisions and form roadmaps in ensuring that TikTok LIVE remains a safe, trustworthy, and risk-free environment. By implementing your domain knowledge, you will help diagnose, triage, and treat large-scale safety issues. You will scope out projects, use ground-truth data to inform strategies, and influence product design. You will lead TikTok LIVE Safety Experience priority while partnering with various stakeholders across the product, operations, policy, and engineering teams—both locally and globally. What will I be doing? - Lead Global Analytical Projects: Spearhead large-scale quantitative analysis projects from end to end — from designing complex metrics and evaluation frameworks to synthesizing multifaceted results into clear, actionable insights across diverse regional markets. - Strategic Business Planning Across Markets: Drive both short-term and long-term global strategic planning through advanced business analysis, industry benchmarking, and macro trend forecasting. Ensure alignment across key geographies, with a focus on Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. - Risk Intelligence System Design: Architect global safety and risk indicator systems that address the unique content safety challenges in different markets. Monitor, measure, and optimize platform risk coverage with a focus on regulatory and cultural nuances. - Content Safety Strategy Leadership: Own the refinement of global content safety systems by integrating statistical modeling, automated decisioning, and business trade-off quantification. Lead scalable solutions for critical risk mitigation efforts. - Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and collaborate with multi-regional cross-functional teams including product, policy, engineering, and operations. Ensure seamless communication of insights and drive unified decision-making at a global scale. - Specialized Risk Detection & Prevention: Proactively identify emerging risks to the platform ecosystem and design data-driven countermeasures. Leverage deep knowledge of international safety standards and local content sensitivities. - Scalable Infrastructure & Tooling: Develop reusable analytical methodologies and internal tools to empower global teams in areas such as resource allocation, experimentation automation, and policy enforcement decision engines. - Executive-Level Reporting & Influence: Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and global Trust & Safety stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in shaping the macro-level direction of content governance.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of leadership experience, including hiring and scaling high-performing Data Science teams. - 5+ years of Data Science experience in Consumer-Facing mobile or web internet industries where you have built social networking, video content applications or other consumer internet applications. Deep understanding of risks in globalised products, with experience in designing success metrics and A/B testing. - Solid experience in quantifying complex problems with many impacting factors, and use statistical methods to seek answers, such as designing experiments, making causal inference. Proficient in data analysis and statistical analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Tableau. - Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in mathematics or statistics-related majors, with a solid foundation in statistical and data mining theories. - Ability to translate technical analysis results into clear strategic recommendations and has successful experience in driving cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment. - Acute ability to grasp company product-related industry technology development trends, and possess strong macro analysis and decision-making capabilities.
