About The Team The Monetization Creative GenAI team is redefining the future of advertising creative experience on TikTok. We develop GenAI-powered creative production and optimization tools that address one of advertisers’ biggest challenges: producing high-quality creatives at scale. At the center of this effort is TikTok Symphony Creative Studio, our flagship product that integrates cutting-edge GenAI technology into the creative process. With capabilities such as image-to-video, text-to-video, and Showcase product. Symphony is transforming how brands bring ideas to life. These innovations go beyond showcasing the potential of GenAI—they deliver practical, scalable solutions to real advertiser needs, empowering brands to create fresh, engaging, and effective campaigns with speed and efficiency. About The Role We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the design of TikTok Symphony Creative Studio in our San Jose office. This role is responsible for defining end-to-end product experiences, establishing scalable design frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on strategy and execution. The Staff Product Designer will play a key role in advancing creative AI capabilities and setting new standards for the TikTok Ads platform. Responsibilities - Drive innovation at speed: Stay ahead of emerging technologies and translate them into impactful design solutions. - Lead Symphony Creative Studio: Own the end-to-end design of our flagship product, shaping product strategy and translating it into a clear, actionable design roadmap. - Design AI-native experiences: Define and champion design frameworks, patterns, and principles that make creative production seamless, intuitive, and impactful across Creative GenAI products. - Simplify complexity: Translate advanced AI capabilities into simple, elegant, and effective creative tools for advertisers. - Shape product strategy: Partner with PM, Engineering, UXR, Content Design, PMM, and Data Science to align design direction with business and product priorities. - Build from 0→1: Bring vision and clarity to brand-new product spaces, guiding ideas from concept through launch. - Lead and mentor: Provide thought leadership in design critiques, coach junior designers, and elevate the overall craft quality of the team. - Champion user needs: Advocate for user-centered design that balances advertiser goals, technical feasibility, and creative innovation. - Scale the team: Support hiring, onboarding, and community development to expand the impact of Creative GenAI design.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Extensive years of product design experience, with at least 2 years in consumer-facing platforms or content moderation systems. - Passion for TikTok products and the creativity they inspire. - Fluency or proficiency in Mandarin, for product launches and communication with external stakeholders - Proven ability to design complex creative, GenAI, or productivity tools at scale; familiarity with the ads domain is a plus. - Strength in defining design strategy and navigating ambiguous problem spaces. Preferred Qualifications: - Commitment to high-quality, meticulously crafted visual and interaction design, with sharp attention to detail. - Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder alignment skills. - An entrepreneurial mindset that balances speed with uncompromised quality. - Deep passion for GenAI, creativity, and the future of digital advertising.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137244 - $318960 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
