PDPO (Privacy and Data Protection Office) is the organization to lead, supervise, and empower all TikTok's privacy work in an accountable and industry leading way. You will join a global team driving privacy best practices across TikTok. Our focus involves ensuring compliance with global laws, regulations and the adoption of privacy best practices. In this role, you will drive multiple programs, in collaboration with colleagues around the world. You will partner with legal and technical teams to drive change across the organization. We are seeking a Privacy Program Manager to us in our LA office. The role will focus on technical verification of company representations and commitments regarding user data privacy. You will interact with Product/Engineering, Legal, Business, and will play a critical role in upholding the representations made to users, ensuring the protection of their personal information, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws, and promoting the adoption of best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Validate technical design, coding, and testing of requirements to ensure implementation and delivery of compliance-driven functionalities. - Develop tools to automate technical verification and detection for representation validation. - Maintain an understanding and awareness of relevant privacy laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices and developments. - Participate in internal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with privacy commitments, laws, and regulations. - Oversee the design of continuous monitoring and analyze collected compliance data to provide decision support for product managers. - Build relationships with key stakeholders to promote compliance and ensure cross-functional collaboration. - Establish, improve, and promote both process and technical systems needed to meet ongoing goals.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. - 5+ years in technical product/program management, compliance or industry equivalent work experience. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. - Experience leading technical roadmap and decisions on projects with global stakeholders. - Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. - Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks. Preferred Qualifications: - Sound knowledge of privacy laws, regulations and industry best practices, including GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and HIPAA. - 3+ years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. - Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly in managing releases, including sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery. - Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bits. - Experience moving large-scale technical or engineering programs or products from inception to delivery, and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return, etc - Proven track record of delivering ambitious programs/organizational change in a compliance or privacy field. - Relevant certifications in privacy and data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, OSCP) are a plus.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $139840 - $256310 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
