Responsibilities
The TikTok LIVE Localization team ensures that every product experience—from UI and features to global campaigns—feels native, intuitive, and engaging to users around the world. More than just translation, we tailor content across 50+ languages with cultural insight and linguistic precision. Our work spans from building scalable LLM-powered tools and localization assets, to partnering closely with cross-functional teams to improve workflows and content quality, driving seamless, impactful experiences for diverse global audiences. The Senior Localization Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing localization efforts across software and web UI, product content, and general L10N requests. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Content Design, RD, Marketing, and Operations to deliver high-quality, user-centered multilingual experiences. The ideal candidate is not only a skilled project manager, but also someone with a passion for great user experience, a curious mind, and strong communication instincts. You enjoy solving problems through collaboration, care deeply about how language shapes global experiences, and are excited to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Responsibilities: 1. Manage localization of software/website UI and maintain vendors & language assets; 2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deeply understand user needs and ensure a cohesive multilingual experience; 3. Ensure quality of social app products and highly visible materials through quality assurance and bug fixing, taking a hands-on approach as necessary; 4. Understand challenges in the localization process, lead language quality improvement initiatives and system/tool optimization with developers; 5. Develop and maintain knowledge base for localization team; 6. Participate in other localization-related initiatives and proactively contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Educational Background in Localization, Translation, Linguistics, Business Administration, or a related field; 2. 3+ years of full-time experience in localization or translation project management, with hands-on experience using content management systems and/or translation management systems; 3. Solid understanding of the software localization lifecycle and the ability to manage end-to-end localization across product, design, and RD workflows; 4. Proven experience in the language and localization industry, including vendor management, quality management, and cross-functional collaboration; 5. Strong attention to detail, highly organized, process-driven, and results-oriented team player; 6. Effective communicator with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across different teams and seniority levels. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in the live streaming, creator economy, or MCN agency industry; 2. Familiarity with AI technologies or technical skills such as Python, JavaScript, Regular Expressions, Markdown.
