About the Team The Global Privacy & Regulatory Affairs team handles and oversees legal privacy and regulatory matters pertaining to TikTok's global operations. The team works cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders in the US and around the world to tackle some of the most complex, interesting, and cutting edge issues in privacy and security. We are looking for highly motivated, experienced, and bright legal professionals to join our exciting team. Responsibilities - Monitor emerging global privacy and social media laws relating to minor data protection, minor safety and age assurance issues, and advise on compliance strategies. - Counsel on minor data protection, minor safety and age assurance issues with cross-function stakeholders related to age assurance and minor protection processes and procedures, the launch of new and updated consumer products, features and services, and engagements with stakeholders on such issues. - Identify business and product requirements resulting from engagements with privacy regulators and other stakeholders, and provide guidance and thought leadership on implementation of privacy controls. - Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders on privacy program and policy development, compliance monitoring, and communication strategies related to minor protection and safety.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US state bar. - Experience working in an in-house legal department of a tech company or in a reputable law firm with substantial experience in tech, media, and telecomm work. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience and interest in minor privacy and safety legal issues, such as COPPA and Age Appropriate Design Code compliance. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. - Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks effectively. 【For Pay Transparency】 Compensation Description (Annually) - Washington, DC

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is 126000 - 205200 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
