About the team TikTok LIVE-Regional Operations-Japan aims to empower a safe, authentic, and inclusive LIVE environment and provide the best real-time experience that cultivates a sense of belonging, enhances real-life experience, enables diverse businesses and provides economic opportunities for people to interact in real-time. Members with high motivation to grow gather, and there is a culture of open discussion from a qualitative and quantitative point of view. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst (Business Analytics focus) to join our team in Tokyo. This role combines data analysis, business strategy, and operational insights, supporting TikTok Live’s global and regional growth. You will not only analyze and model data, but also translate it into business impact, empower local teams through knowledge transfer, and collaborate closely with upstream and downstream stakeholders. Responsibilities Business Target & Strategy Support - Participate in quarterly/monthly business target setting at global and regional levels. - Build and iterate business target models, monitor performance against goals, and identify issues and opportunities. Data Analysis & Dashboard Management - Conduct in-depth data analysis (with a focus on NEA internal needs). - Design, build, and maintain dashboards for performance tracking and decision-making. - Ensure effective data accessibility and usability across teams. Knowledge Transfer & Empowerment - Provide knowledge transfer and analytical enablement for frontline business teams. - Promote data-driven culture by guiding teams on how to leverage insights into daily operations. Cross-functional Insights & Implementation - Establish and implement modularized business metric systems. - Partner with upstream and downstream teams to identify and resolve key business problems. - Propose solutions based on industry and business model research, and lead cross-department initiatives to deliver results. Stakeholder Collaboration - Collaborate with the global data platform and related BA teams to ensure alignment of metrics, tools, and data methodologies. - Support and guide local country teams, ensuring insights and tools are actionable at market level.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - 5+ years in business or operational analysis in internet/tech companies. Proven track record in target setting, performance analysis, and driving data-informed decisions. - Analytical & Technical Skills: Strong quantitative skills, SQL, dashboard design, and metrics system implementation. Ability to translate data insights into business strategy and operational actions. - Excellent cross-team collaboration, strong ownership, independence, and adaptability. - Languages: High business-level oral and written proficiency in Chinese and English is required for cross-functional communication with stakeholders based North East Asia and other Chinese speaking regions. Preferred Qualifications: - Passion for global online entertainment (live streaming, social media, gaming). Direct industry experience is a plus. - Experience in regional/global business contexts. Hands-on with advanced analytics, metrics system design, or business performance optimization.
