Responsibilities
The User Growth (UG) department is responsible for driving the growth of ByteDance’s global product portfolio. We design tailored growth strategies and leverage marketing, product, and data analysis techniques to achieve business growth goals. The UG team maintains and optimizes a series of scalable growth frameworks, applies them across diverse business scenarios, and continuously identifies new growth opportunities to help our products break through performance ceilings. As a core part of the UG organization, the UG Midplatform Data Scientist Team supports key product lines across ByteDance. Joining us means working closely with overseas marketing and product growth strategy teams, contributing to analytics for products with hundreds of millions of users, and gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading growth practices. Key Responsibilities: 1. Build and maintain comprehensive metrics and reporting systems, conducting in-depth user and growth analyses based on performance data and feedback. 2. Continuously monitor business data, track growth trends, and provide early warnings, diagnostics, and insights for key performance fluctuations. 3. Lead end-to-end analytical projects, from data extraction and metric design to experimental evaluation and business recommendations. 4. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and engineering teams to drive data-informed optimizations and deliver measurable business impact.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s) 1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative/technical fields preferred. 2. 1–3 years of experience in user growth, product optimization, business analytics, or digital advertising analytics. 3. Proficiency in SQL, Excel, R, Python, Tableau, and strong knowledge of common statistical methods and applications (e.g., A/B testing, probability, regression analysis). 4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses clearly in cross-functional environment. Preferred Qualification(s) 1. Passion for social media and short video products, with a strong sense of curiosity and ownership toward product growth.
