About the Team Creators are the heart and soul of TikTok. The Creator team's mission is to facilitate our Creator community's growth and development, drive high quality content production and increase creator engagement and product adoption through scaled content and education programs. This team will also create scalable initiatives to build, celebrate, and recognize our diverse and inclusive communities around the world. As Principal, Content Acquisition & Development, you will lead the strategy and execution of high-quality celebrity-led and digital original content acquisition in Korea, with a strong focus on partnerships with talent agencies, MCNs, and digital-first studios. This role is responsible for building and scaling a premium content ecosystem by working closely with celebrities, talent agencies, MCNs, production studios, and digital original creators. You will own end-to-end dealmaking, partner strategy, and ecosystem development to drive content quality, cultural relevance, and long-term platform growth. Key Responsibilities Celebrity, Talent Agency Partnership - Own the full lifecycle of partnerships with celebrities, talent agencies, MCNs, and digital original studios, from sourcing and evaluation to negotiation and execution. - Structure and negotiate complex agreements with talent agencies covering celebrity onboarding, digital original production, content rights, and long-term collaboration models. - Develop scalable partnership frameworks for talent agencies to onboard, manage, and grow multiple celebrity accounts. - Act as a relationship owner for key agencies building trust and long-term strategic alignment. Digital Original Content Acquisition - Lead acquisition and development of studio-quality digital original content, including celebrity-led formats and digital-first productions. - Define acquisition priorities for celebrity-driven and studio/MCN-powered digital originals aligned with platform strategy and audience demand. - Manage a high volume of deals while maintaining quality, consistency, and strategic focus. Ecosystem & Partner Development - Build and scale a sustainable ecosystem for celebrities, talent agencies, and digital studios, ensuring partner success and platform differentiation. - Design and execute partner education programs focused on content quality, platform storytelling, and production optimization. - Drive initiatives for content globalization, enabling Korean celebrities and digital original IP to expand into global markets. Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership - Serve as a cross-functional leader aligning Marketing, Product, Sales, PR, GR, Legal, and global teams around celebrity and digital original content strategy. - Collaborate with Product teams to identify celebrity/digital original-specific needs and influence product features, tools, and workflows. - Partner with global teams to localize global initiatives and contribute Korean market insights to global celebrity strategies. - Represent the company’s celebrity and digital original content strategy in external industry events, agency forums, and media engagements. Performance Management & Operations - Oversee day-to-day operations related to celebrity, agency, and digital original studio partnerships. - Define, track, and analyze performance metrics for celebrity and digital original content portfolios. - Optimize deal processes, partner workflows, and reporting frameworks to support scale and efficiency. - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing content acquisition team specializing in celebrity, agency, and digital original studio partnerships.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. - Previous years of experience in content acquisition, production, distribution, or digital transformation within entertainment or media industries, and at least 5+ years of related experience working with celebrities, talent agencies, or digital original studios in Korea. - Proven track record of negotiating complex agreements involving talent, content rights, and production partnerships. - Strong industry network and trusted relationships with celebrities, talent agencies, MCNs, and key digital original studios. - Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders. - Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to evaluate content performance and guide acquisition strategy. - Business-level proficiency in written and spoken English and Korean. Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree. - Experience building or scaling celebrity or MCN-driven content programs at a global platform or major media company. - Strong understanding of intellectual property rights and experience collaborating with legal teams on complex talent and content agreements. - Demonstrated people leadership experience and team-building capability. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment. - Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
