About the Team Creators are the heart and soul of TikTok. The Creator team's mission is to facilitate our Creator community's growth and development, drive high quality content production and increase creator engagement and product adoption through scaled content and education programs. This team will also create scalable initiatives to build, celebrate, and recognize our diverse and inclusive communities around the world. As Principal, Creator Acquisition & Development, you will own the acquisition, onboarding, and long-term development of top-tier creators in Korea, including digital-first creators, studio-led creators, and high-impact creators on the platform. This role is responsible for building and scaling a sustainable creator ecosystem that enables high-quality content creation, stable creator growth, and long-term platform engagement. You will serve as a leader for creator strategy execution, working closely with internal cross-functional teams including Product, Content, Marketing, Operations, and regional/global partners. Externally, you will partner with top creators, MCNs, and production studios to unlock new content opportunities and strengthen platform differentiation. This role requires deep ecosystem understanding, strong industry relationships, and the ability to lead complex creator initiatives with a high degree of ownership and independence. We are looking for a leader who strongly aligns with ByteStyle and demonstrates integrity, along with a proactive, ownership-driven, and execution-focused way of working. This role will be based in Seoul. Key Responsibilities Creator Acquisition & Ecosystem Development - Own the end-to-end acquisition and onboarding of top-tier creators, ensuring long-term engagement and sustainable growth on the platform. - Design and scale creator development frameworks that improve content quality, creator performance, and retention. - Build and maintain trusted relationships with top creators, MCNs, and production partners. Creator Partnerships & Strategic Collaboration - Lead the design and execution of strategic partnerships with creators, MCNs, and studios, including long-term collaboration models and scalable onboarding frameworks. - Lead or drive negotiations related to creator onboarding, partnership structures, and collaboration models, working closely with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders. - Enable partners to efficiently manage and grow multiple creator accounts through structured programs and operational frameworks. Product Program Strategy & Scaled Execution - Own the local strategy, alignment, and execution of creator-facing product programs originating from Headquarters Product teams, ensuring successful adoption and impact in the Korean market. - Partner closely with product teams to identify program opportunities based on product roadmaps, creator needs, and data-driven insights. - Define local execution plans, success metrics, and rollout frameworks for scaled product programs in collaboration with local and regional operations teams. - Drive continuous improvement of product programs by incorporating creator feedback, operational learnings, and performance data. - Represent Korean market insights in global product program discussions to influence future program design and prioritization. Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership - Act as a cross-functional leader for creator initiatives, aligning Product, Content, Marketing, Operations, Legal, and global teams around shared priorities. - Influence product tools, workflows, and creator-facing features by bringing structured creator insights and ecosystem needs to Product teams. - Lead the local execution of global creator programs and contribute Korean market insights to global creator strategy discussions. Performance Management & Operational Excellence - Define, track, and analyze performance metrics for creator acquisition, engagement, and growth. - Drive continuous optimization of creator programs, partner workflows, and operational processes to enable scale and efficiency. - Own reporting, documentation, and operational planning for creator acquisition and development initiatives. People Leadership & Mentorship - Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and prioritization support to 1~2 team members supporting creator acquisition and operations. - Lead by example as an individual contributor, setting a high bar for ownership, execution quality, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience - Previous years of experience in creator management, content acquisition, production, digital media operations, or platform ecosystem development within entertainment or media industries. - Proven experience leading creator acquisition or partnership programs involving top-tier creators, MCNs, or production studios in Korea; strong industry networks and trusted relationships across the creator and digital content ecosystem. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication skills in Korean and English for stakeholder management and negotiation skills. - Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to evaluate creator performance and translate insights into scalable programs. - Ability to operate with high ownership in ambiguous, fast-changing, and high-pressure environments. - Hands-on experience managing external agencies and vendors; strong operational skills in budget, resource, and timeline management Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree. - Experience working at a global tech, content platform, MCN, or digital media company. - Experience building or scaling creator-driven content ecosystems at a global platform or major media/technology company. - Strong understanding of intellectual property rights and experience collaborating with Legal on creator-related agreements. - Demonstrated people leadership experience and ability to mentor high-performing team members. - Strong presentation, storytelling, and strategic communication skills. - Experience working closely with global stakeholders across regions and time zones.
